The Exmoor is from the region of southwest England, known as Exmoor. It is one of the oldest breeds in the world and dates back to the Ice Age. They are classed as a rare breed, and although only between 12.2 and 12.3hh they are strong enough to carry a full grown adult. They have short but strong legs, and a broad back which enables them to carry heavy weights.
